Espai d'Homes (Catalan for "Space for Men") is a space dedicated to promote self-awareness, personal growth and wellness for men who love men*
Espai d'Homes was founded in Barcelona in 2009 and since then has offered courses, workshops and individual sessions in Barcelona and Spain. The objetive of our interdisciplinary and international team is to create a safe and supportive environment where gay and bisexual men can be open to personal growth processes.
In our work we use a experiential and practical methodology: We combine Gestalt Therapy (a current of humanistic psychology that focuses on body awareness and emotional and relational aspects) with other body oriented disciplines (Yoga, Tantra, massage) and with playful and creative elements, like Ludotraining ("game therapy") and therapeutic theatre.
Our retreats bring you to selected natural places, where we combine personal growth with relaxation and joy ("intelligent tourism").
Many gay and bisexual men wish to reflect and learn more about different aspects that have to do with their sexual orientation and their sexuality. Espai d'Homes is a space where this reflection and learning is possible in a concious way and where everybody can learn from and with each other. We understand that we are part of a larger context, in the same way as the human sexuality is (a very important) part of the total vital experience of each person.
In our courses and workshops we invite our participants:
- to know and love themselves more
- to build more satisfying relationships
- to fully accept their sexuality and live it more freely, responsably, and joyously
- to achieve a greater integration between thinking, feeling and acting
- to build their own model of life, leaving behind prejudices and clichés that no longer serve them
- develop all their skills and talents that they have as men who love men.
Our values are being present, the concious encounter with oneself and others, joy, communication, respect and diversity.
Espai d'Homes cooperates with the Centre for Psychotherapy Espai de Gestalt (Barcelona) and Authentic Eros (Berlin / New York).
